While beauty contests are held so often in Nepal that most of us are fed up with following them and doubt them over their existence and visions. That should make another long story but despite all that, Miss Teen of Nepal is definitely something to look forward for. Well do not believe in it for being the second largest beauty pageant of Nepal but for the recent changes in title. For this one doesn’t represent the whole country, it’s just a Miss Teen of Republica, NOT Nepal. And saying that, wanted to share that Kriti Tamang Lama is Republica Miss Teen of 2010!
Kriti Tamang Lama was successful in impressing the judges with her answer for “How has been your teenage so far?” and wooing the audience with her grooves on Gairi khetko from the movie Prem Pinda. As so Republica in its own words includes personality to woo the audience, talent to impress the judges, good looks, presence of mind and oodles of self-confidence as means to get to the title.
Kriti, after the title shares “I guess I knew it the whole time (laughs), my self-belief has been a driving factor, and I’m really happy.” “I was always positive, it’s a dream come true and winning the title feels amazing”, she added after Miss Teen 2009, Shriya Poudel handed over the crown and responsibility to Lama.
Big names for the great decision were the panel of judges comprising of Prakash Sayami, Independent film maker; Sahana Bajracharya, Miss Nepal first runner up 2009; Anil Shah, Chief Executive Officer of Mega Bank Nepal Ltd; Ms Dhana Lama, Radio Program Production & Presentation; Ms. Babita Basnet, Editor Ghatana Ra Bichar weekly. Not to miss, Miss Nepal 2009 Zenisha Moktan and Kunchan Moktan Tamang, Miss Tourism Nepal 2007, were the official choreographers of the event.
